Pillow Talk

Our osteopath and yoga teacher, Yinka Fabusuyi, give some tips on pillows and pillow care to avoid neck pain.

A pillow can make all the difference if you are suffering with neck pain and stiffness. See Yinka for treatment for neck pain and stiffness including neck pain associated with arthritis and tension headaches.

In the meantime here are some handy tips:

1. Avoid folding your pillow, use two pillows instead. If necessary use two pillows of different firmness to get the height you need. Alternatively gently gather your pillow around the middle and tie it into a butterfly shape with a thin scarf. This will support your neck and shoulders.

2. Pillows do not last forever. If a pillow is stained, lost its support, smelly or mouldy get rid of it.

3. Give your pillow a good airing regularly by removing it from the bed and giving it a good shake.
